So this last Christmas, my Mom gave my brother and I both lavender polo shirts. I'm not sure why. I remember thinking, "My Mom got me a blouse!" But the buttons are on the correct side. It really is a lavender men's shirt. Six months later, and I figure it's about time I gave it a shot. So I wore it. To work. Some of my co-workers who know me well enough to be rude had some snide remarks. And at band practice tonight, Denver, the bass player, just said "What the Hell?!" and burst out laughing. Thanks D. I have to admit it is a very comfortable shirt, and I was never the least bit self-conscious about having it on, bass player laughter or not. Besides, who decides that some colors are masculine and some are feminine? It's all just BS. Innate symbolism in society, at best. I'll attach a photo and you judge for yourself. One thing is apparent from the photo: I need a haircut.
