Somewhere in the pure randomness of half asleep thought, this came to me last night.
When he finally relieves the nation of the burden of his presidency next year, George W. Bush should be the next commissioner of baseball. Why? Well, he used to be a baseball owner, so he know's the business. Also, who better to be able to stand up to the constantly bickering player's union and owners than a former president, complete with secret service staff in tow? I think his overly bullying 'war on terror' tactics would translate nicely to a 'war on steroids'. And, if he has the DEA invade the yankees clubhouse due to bad intelligence about the presence of PEH's (performance enhancing drugs), who would really be all that upset? Sure, his poor diplomacy would lead to deteriorating relations with all the other major sports, but who cares?
